Embarc Collective

Embarc Collective was undergoing a brand refresh and needed a new website and suite of marketing assets to bring the updated identity to life. I joined the project after the new visual direction was established, leading web design across 15+ pages and extending the brand into print, social, and internal design tools.

My role: Web Design + Brand Application

Collaboration: Cooth

Scope: 15+ page website, print, social, templates

Approach

  • Expressive Branding

Translate the refreshed visual identity into a digital experience that feels fresh while still feeling unmistakeably Embarc. I integrated lively, scribbly graphics and authentic, people-first photography that represented the energetic, scrappy, and supportive Embarc community.

  • Clear, Human Messaging

Work closely with copywriters and Embarc leadership to shape content hierarchy and apply the brand voice across site messaging. Visual design and copy worked together to create a brand experience that feels bold, helpful, and approachable while keeping the user experience clear.

  • Built Together

Partner closely with the development team throughout implementation, providing design notes, animation direction, and QA on live page drafts. I also extended the brand into reusable tools and templates that make ongoing creation easier for the Embarc team.

My Role

I led the design of 15+ website pages, working closely with the creative director, copywriters, developers, and Embarc leadership to bring the refreshed brand to life online. Throughout development, I provided detailed design and animation direction and QA’d live page designs to ensure the final experience stayed true to the intended design across all devices.

I also helped translate the new visual identity into practical marketing materials and tools that Embarc could use across their day-to-day communications.

Beyond the Website

The website was just one part of the project. I carried the refreshed brand into the marketing materials Embarc uses every day, including print and reusable social templates that gives their team more flexibility and independence.

The work also gave Embarc a more flexible system for managing its own marketing. The team specifically praised the Canva setup for making their day-to-day design work easier while giving them more flexibility.

“The Embarc Team absolutely LOVES the Canva brand guidelines and how you applied the new brand look. They love how easy it’s making their lives and also how much flexibility they can get.”

Embarc also described the new website as feeling “new but still like us,” while the team praised how the refreshed visual direction carried naturally from the website into new marketing materials.
